Life Is Art - Issue #069 -- News from the Louis Pohl Gallery
January 19, 2016
Aloha,

Happy New Year! Meet Helen Iaea and Vivian Ursula Bratton

I hope that the New Year has been very good to you. It has been an interesting 2016 start so far and Chinese New Year is just around the Corner.

In this newest ceramic show, I am showcasing the Windward potters, who I have admired over years. We are so pleased to be able to have them through February 26th.

Come meet the artists on First Friday, February 5th between 6 to 8 pm. That’s the night that the lions roam through downtown Chinatown, so be prepared for all the excitement, the enchantment of the traditions of the Chinese lions chasing away the negative spirits as they happily chasing up and down the streets. The lions are scheduled between 6:30-9 to come to our gallery for our fireworks and blessing. The Windward potters and artists, Helen Iaea and Vivian Ursula plus all our friends and family will be enjoying the wait, drinking mint water, eating popcorn and other nibbles. It will be fun to welcome the lions with good friends and make new friends as we welcome the Chinese year of the monkey.

The best place to park is at the Kukui Plaza parking lot. After 5, parking is $3 until midnight. The parking lot entrance is on Kukui St. between Nuuanu and Pali Highway (behind the Pali longs).

Again, Happy Chinese New Year… Enjoy
