Life Is Art - Issue #106 -- News from the Louis Pohl Gallery
September 19, 2018
Aloha,

Release your Inner Artist! October Make-Art Saturday Schedule

I must admit that I never did art since I was in the 6th grade. I was always to afraid to try... and I could hear that nun telling me that I had the worst crayon drawing in the class. Over the years, I tried but I would stare at a blank sheet or new canvas for hours before putting the art tools and supplies away.

However, I have been taking the classes put on by the Creative Arts experience in the art gallery. The first class I participated in, I was nervous and did not think I could do anything good. Now I like making art... I forget I'm scared, I listen to instructions and ask questions. I don't judge my own work while I'm doing it. Who knew I would like making art and experimenting and sometimes liking what I did... I just like doing simple little art. I just try and try to have fun.

Both Debbie and Yvonne's style of teaching is relaxing and encouraging. On Saturday, Debbie West will be be helping us make Asian-themed journals that require no stitching. On September 29, Yvonne Manipon will lead us in an abstract art exercise. They are fun classes.

I attached the October art-mark Saturday schedule so that you can save the dates to come participate

Every Saturday, the gallery features a different special make-art experience through Creative Arts Experience. Come cool off in the Gallery at 1:30. It's a $10 donation to the Creative Arts Experience.

Best First Friday parking is at Kukui Plaza, entrance on Kukui Street behind Pali Long's.
